Today’s decision by the Court of First Instance in the Henry Li Home Ownership Scheme case is another victory for both same-sex couples and fundamental justice.

The judge’s holding makes it crystal clear that discriminatory treatment offends human dignity and the notion of fairness.

Hong Kong Marriage Equality wishes to thank Henry for fighting a very important case under a difficult situation.

We also urge the authorities to accept the ruling. Any appeal not only sends a wrong message to society but also a waste of taxpayer dollars.
