Statement on the Nick Infinger Case

Hong Kong Marriage Equality welcomes the Court of First of Instance ruling in the Nick Infinger case.

We congratulate Mr. Infinger on winning this important case concerning LGBT+ equality. We also want to extend our gratitude to the lawyers for representing Mr. Infinger and the LGBT+ community.

The courts rightly confirmed again that discrimination against same-sex marriages is unlawful. We invite the government to listen to the courts and the public, and to work with the LGBT+ community and reform our laws and policies.

Same-sex couples deserve to be treated with equality and respect; it’s time for marriage equality in Hong Kong!
